Songs, stages, stories
Melody Jordan is a singer-songwriter and live performer with a lifelong foundation in music, storytelling, and performance. Originally from Fresno, California, she spent much of her childhood in Clovis, with a formative year in Bishop before relocating to Santa Maria at age twelve, where her passion for music continued to deepen. She now resides in Lebanon, Oregon, where she balances her creative career with life as a mom to her daughter, Karly (9).
Melody grew up in a deeply musical household, heavily influenced by her father — a gifted multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose roots in country music filled their home with artists like The Marshall Tucker Band, Alan Jackson, and Brooks & Dunn. This early exposure shaped her understanding of songwriting, storytelling, and musicianship. At sixteen, she performed alongside her father at a wedding — a moment that marked the beginning of her journey as a live performer.
Throughout high school, Melody was actively involved in choral programs, including women’s choir, varsity choir, and madrigals. Singing as an alto, she frequently held solo parts and developed strong vocal discipline and harmony skills. Her formal training began even earlier: piano at age eight, violin in elementary school orchestra, and guitar at eighteen — the instrument that became central to her songwriting.
Just before turning nineteen, Melody moved to Los Angeles, where she joined a band through Craigslist and stepped into the role of frontwoman for a heavy rock group often described as Paramore meets Evanescence. She spent several years performing across the Sunset Strip, the San Fernando Valley, and Venice Beach, building a strong foundation in live performance and original music production.

Her performance experience extends beyond California, with shows in Hawaii; Austin, Texas; and Nashville, Tennessee. At twenty-one, she won a trip to Las Vegas through a karaoke competition, and her band later won a battle of the bands, earning studio time to record a demo. She also recorded an EP with producers who had written and toured with Bret Michaels, further expanding her studio and collaborative experience.
Today, Melody performs primarily as an acoustic solo artist, delivering engaging, intimate sets that blend professionalism with genuine connection. Her performances feature a mix of stripped-down covers — from The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac to Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Taylor Swift, and Paramore — alongside her own original music.
With a background that spans classical training, rock stages, studio recording, and acoustic performance, Melody brings versatility, experience, and intention to every show. Whether performing in intimate listening rooms or at live events, her focus remains the same: creating a meaningful, memorable experience through music.
In addition to her work as a musician, Melody is the owner of MJ Media Productions, where she specializes in photography and videography for businesses. Her background in visual storytelling naturally complements her music, shaping how she approaches performance, branding, and audience experience. This dual creative path allows her to bring a cohesive and thoughtful perspective to both sound and visuals.
